Successful Plenary Meeting

The In-MINDD team held a very successful plenary meeting in Glasgow on 26 and 27 March 2014. Key work was undertaken in particular relating to the In-MINDD profiler (WP2) and feasibility study (WP3). The next plenary meeting is scheduled for Autumn 2014.

Glasgow University at Scottish Smoking and Dementia Summit

Prof Kate O’Donnell from In-MINDD partner Glasgow University presented at the “Tackling smoking and dementia summit” in Edinburgh on 4 February 2014. Prof O’Donnell’s presentation was entitled:

‘Reducing your risk of dementia: are there modifiable risk factors? The European In-MINDD study’.

 

In-MINDD at 22nd European Congress of Psychiatry

Research generated by the In-MINDD Project will be presented at the 22nd European Congress of Psychiatry, in Munich, Germany, on 3 March, 2014.

Dr. Kate Irving on RTE

Dr. Kate Irving made an appearance on the RTE show – The Gene that Could End My Life, discussing the positive impact lifestyle improvements can have on the chance of developing dementia later in life.

Dr Maria Pierce of DCU represented the In-MINDD team at the EU workshop ‘Public Mental Health Research – Bridging the Gap between Evidence and Policy’ in Brussels on 22 January 2014.

The In-MINDD team recently got together for a very productive consortium meeting in Nice on 20 and 21 November, hosted by UNS.

In-MINDD at HIS Conference 2013

The In-MINDD project will feature at the Health Informatics Scotland Conference 2013, on Wednesday, 18th September, 2013.

The title of the presentation is ‘Automatic Mapping of Longitudinal Studies to Medical Ontologies‘, by authors Mark Roantree, Jim O’ Donoghue, Noel O Kelly, Sebastian Koehler, and Martin van Boxtel.

In-MINDD at 13th ICGP Meeting

Dr. Sebastian Köhler will be presenting at the 13th meeting of the International College of Geriatric Psychoneuropharmacology (ICGP) in Pittsburgh, USA from 30 October – 2 November 2013.

Dr. Köhler will be presenting on the In-MINDD project, discussing risk factors and new data regarding depression and dementia.

In-MINDD at AE Conference 2013

Representatives from In-MINDD will represent at Alzheimer Europe’s 2013 Conference in Malta, taking place between the 10th and 12th of October.
